abr 25, 2014 One Holiday Rentals Barcelona 5

Funny, quirky, yet interesting. They are the most curious museums you’ll find Barcelona.

If you’ve already visited the Picasso Museum, the Miró Foundation and MACBA … what other museums does Barcelona offer you? Out of the tourist tours you can visit the weird and wonderful museums. Although few people know them, you will be in love with them. Following, we introduce you the museums that are worth visiting.

The Teatre Museu Rei of Màgia

Barcelona and illusion go hand in hand. One of the best examples is the Teatre Museu Rei of Màgia, where you will find the city’s relationship with the art of illusion. It was founded in 1881 and is one of the oldest museums in the world dedicated to education, wing manufacturing and selling magic items. C/ Jonqueres, 15 (Ciutat Vella)

Museu del Perfum (Perfume museum)

Museu-del-Perfume-en-Barcelona-visto-en

The collection of Museu del Perfum is made up of five thousand pieces of ancient and modern bottles, miniatures, catalogs, labels and old advertising materials. The collection is divided into two parts: The first section shows all the bottles and jars of ointments essences in chronological order. You can see things like a tube of eye makeup or Edwardian Egyptian spray bottles and a bag that belonged to Marie Antoinette herself. The second section is not arranged chronologically. It is based on brands, like Dior or Guerlain, as well as special editions designed by artists like Dali. Pg de Gràcia, 39 (Eixample)

Museu de l’Erotica (Erotic museum)

fotomuseo

Spain´s only museum dedicated to the erotic world. It offers a broad socio- cultural journey on the influence of eroticism since the beginning of mankind, from the beginning of aphrodisiac substances used in ancient Egypt to the culture Pin up. Throughout the museum you will learn the hidden faces of eroticism in all its manifestations. Check his official web.
La Rambla, 96 (Ciutat Vella)

Museu de Cera (Wax Museum)

It is a good idea for a rainy afternoon or a night out with children. You will love the submarine and the old ships. You should be warned in advance that these types of exhibits are a bit strange (like any other wax museum) and the mixture of historical figures with other 80´s figures can be quite shocking. Imagine the composers of the nineteenth century with ET, Star Wars, JR or Lady Di. Sure to visit the Museu de Cera will not leave you indifferent. Ptge de la Banca, 7 (Ciutat Vella)

Museu de la Moto (Motorcycle museum)

museo-de-la-moto

Barcelona has a long tradition in the world of motorcycling; in fact it is the Spanish city with the highest number of motorcycles.Check in the former convent of San Felipe Neri, where, motorcycles change to relics and become ready to be venerated between arches and whitewashed walls. The Motorcycle Museum was born almost over a year and is not in lack of classic Montesa, Bultaco, OSSA and Derbi. C/ de la Palla, 10 (Ciutat Vella)

Museu de la Xocolata (Chocolate Museum)

Either you have sweet tooth or not, you deserve what you visit. It is full of chocolate sculptures for all ages made by pastry chefs in the city in different shapes from the Casa Batlló to the characters in the final film by Pixar or Disney classics. Audiovisual documents and touch-screen computers explain in a fun way the history of cocoa, from its origins to its arrival in Europe. Book in his webside  if you want to do one of the courses to learn how to make chocolate figures and desserts. C/ del Comerç, 10 (Born)
