Barcelona’s summers can get pretty hot. So if you can’t stand another second under the boiling sun you just need to get off the beach and pop in Icebarcelona, the first ice bar next to the beach in the world.
Located by the Somorrostro Beach, Icebarcelona was born in 2007 and has quickly become a classic for both tourists and locals who are curious enough to enter a room that’s five degrees below zero (Celsius) that has been designed by international artists that gave the room special light features and ice sculptures that change every so often. If you’re worried about the temperature, fear not! The bar provides you with a coat and gloves so you can hold your ice cocktail glass. People usually stay for about 45 minutes but if you can stand the cold you can sit there for as long as you like. The bar also has a bar and terrace apart from the ice room.
The entrance to the ice bar costs 15 euros and includes gloves, coat and one drink. You might want to book in advance if you’re thinking of going with more than five people, Saturday nights and in August. Queues can take longer than 20 minutes!
