The famous district of Chueca is a part of the Justicia neighborhood. It is located in the center of Madrid. It is close to Plaza de Chueca, Fuencarral street and Hortaleza.Chueca is the gay epicenter of Madrid and a symbol of modernity, art and tolerance.
In recent years, this area has become the banner of freedom and openness of Madrid society housing numerous locals of the LGBT community, alternative centers of fashion and fun and relaxed atmosphere. It’s a neighborhood to enjoy fashion because it houses different shops, from the most cutting-edge designs to leading brands.
In this district you can find lots of bars for either a quick drink or dancing till late night. Similarly, it has lots of offerings in designer restaurants, popular or international cuisine. Chueca each year is also the center of the Gay Pride festival, which takes place between the months of June and July. At this time the streets are filled with color, joy, and thousands of people.
Although it is a gay district but almost all cultures and subcultures live together here. If you like to dance you can go to Delirio and dance both gay discography, Spanish or international classics.
